OUR CANDIDATES

KIMBERLEY ADAMS

I am a lifelong resident of Rockville and Gaithersburg and a graduate of the University of Maryland.  As a result, I am highly informed and care deeply about issues affecting the quality of life in Montgomery County.

After graduating from the University of Maryland, I embarked upon an extraordinary professional career with the National Education Association’s Member Benefits Corporation, a career which only recently culminated with my retirement as the organization’s Senior Director of Field Sales Strategy.

In this role, I oversaw the nationwide field force which serves the financial interests of 3 million NEA Members and required me to use my well-developed organizational, detail orientation and interpersonal skills to achieve success.  My specific areas of expertise centered on sales growth, managing grassroots organizing campaigns, and developing partnerships and coalitions with leaders and staff across 50 NEA affiliates.

As a Hidden Creek homeowner since 2009, I am committed to keeping our community vibrant and safe, restoring amenities and services we enjoyed for many years that have been either taken away or denied homeowners without explanation, and fairly representing homeowners’ (of single-family homes, townhouses, and condominiums) interests and concerns while observing HOA bylaws and policies.

I welcome the opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors working with my fellow board members to make strategic, thoughtful decisions that support the interests of ALL homeowners. Residents deserve to be informed, heard, and included.

AARON HARTMAN

I care about this community and want to contribute to keeping it a great place to live. As a condominium owner who has lived in the community for more than a decade, I have a direct stake in the community's long-term health, from maintaining property values to preserving our common areas and ensuring our finances are managed responsibly.

I believe a good board listens to residents, communicates openly, and makes decisions based on the community's shared interests. I believe a commitment to fairness, transparency, and consistent enforcement of the rules are essential qualities of any good HOA Board of Directors.

Sadly, I believe that the current Board of Directors, with an emphasis on the current President, Amanda Shepherd, have failed to deliver on their core responsibilities to the community.  It is time for a change in leadership.

I have lived in Montgomery County for most of my life, having grown up in Rockville.  I have deep ties to the local community and want nothing more than to preserve the qualities that make Hidden Creek a great place to live.

Like many in the area, I am a civil servant.  I have worked for the Food and Drug Administration for the last 15 years in the field of computer security.

I have previously served as an HOA board member in Howard County, and I currently serve as a board member on the Hidden Creek Condo Association.

DANA MELTON

Greetings. My name is Dana Melton-Giles, and I am a tribal member of the Pueblos of Jemez and Laguna in New Mexico, my Indigenous homeland. I have also been proud to call the Hidden Creek community home since July 2007, a total of 19 years. I am a mother of four and happily married to Jason Giles.

I served as Secretary of the Pueblo of Laguna Colony Board from 2001 to 2003. I also served as Business Manager and Trade Show Director for the Indian Gaming Association in Washington, D.C., from 2006 to 2015.

Currently, I have served as program manager for American Indian Development Associates, a Native American, Women-Owned Small Business, from 2015 to the present. I manage federal contracts with the Department of Justice and the Department of Interior. My responsibilities include contract management and compliance, budget oversight, monthly reporting, and meeting project deadlines and deliverables.

My priorities for the Hidden Creek Community are to improve governance, communication, accountability, and transparency, and ensure the inclusive participation of all community members. Reestablish the onsite Property Manager position at the Clubhouse, separating administrative duties from those of board members and the association management company. Ensure representation and communication between the HOA and the COA. Establish HOA Committees. Conduct hybrid meetings, both Zoom and in-person, at the Hidden Creek Clubhouse. Improve landscaping and snow removal services.
